A Call to the Harvest Field
Who gave you permission to sit this one out?
Num 32:6
"Shall your countrymen go to war while you sit here?
The battle is ranging. It's a battle for souls. Satan has bound many in his grip. Many have been shut behind gates of brass and bars of iron. Only an all out offensive war can deliver them from this captivity.
Jesus said:
"I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." — Matt 16:18.
Is that your idea of church?
Well, it is the kind of church that Jesus has in mind. Many souls are imprisoned in the devil's prison. Jesus came to set the captives free. We as the church are to wage war to implement God's will for mankind. We have been given power and authority to bring in to the Kingdom of God what Jesus has already purchased.
You see, the devil is a thief. Thieves keep what doesn't belong to them. This is what this war is all about. He is keeping souls that don't belong to him. We must break through those gates and proclaim liberty to the captives. We can't hold our hands and watch as our loved ones, neighbors, countrymen and souls in the uttermost regions continue to be held by an illegal master. There is no church except the warring church. Jesus the head of the church is the commander in this war. See how He is described:
"The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name...." — Exod 15:3
What about this:
Isa 61:1
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
You have it right there in black and white. That’s the reason why God gives His Spirit. That’s the reason God Anoints. It is for battle. It is so that we can go out there and open those prison gates, that those who have not seen His marvelous light like you have, may do.
"There are those who are made for this stuff, not me," someone says. You might as well say you are not part of the church. The church is made for this stuff.
The reason you feel so dry is probably because you are. The anointing is not for cowards. It’s certainly not for ‘showbiz’. It’s for battle. It’s for the unselfish. The anointing is for those whose hearts reaches out to the lost. If your hearts intents are not those listed in Isaiah 61: 1, you can’t be trusted with anointing. The anointing is not for sitting on!
God has servants who have heeded His call to proclaim liberty to the captives. But the task is so big to be left to select few. That’s why Jesus gave the mandate to the whole church. Missionaries are toiling in dark corners of this world among the captives and the meek while you do nothing about it. Well, if that is you, the Bible has a question for you; "Shall your countrymen go to war while you sit here?
Won’t you wake up and join them?
Doesn’t it touch you that millions are perishing?
Doesn’t it make you want to do something?
How hard can a heart get?
