IS IT ITS or IT'S

If enough people believe that a wrong thing is right, does that make it so? For instance, if people from all educational levels persist in writing its when they mean it’s, does that that make it correct? From executive memos to newspapers articles to billboards, the misuse of its goes on. To be correct, you would use it’s for a contraction of it is. (It’s a nice day). And, you would use its to denote a possession of it. (The dog wagged its tail).

It seems people use this construction incorrectly than correctly. Does that mean we should condone its improper use? I hope not. The same is true of biblical teachings that are twisted so often we might consider not making such a big deal about them.

For instance, what if people continually suggest that hell is not a real place and people without Jesus are not really lost? (Matt 5: 22, Luke 12: 5). Should we reconsider the accuracy of what scripture teaches about hell? Or what about the common practice of lying? Should we redefine biblical teaching about honesty?

What about  (Matt 28: 18-20, Mark 16: 15). The words of Jesus appeals in plain language;
"Go make disciples of all Nations."

Should we reconsider replacing this with the Gospel of convenience? How about we call a convention and have a consensus that greed is okay. We will create a religion complete with enough rituals to keep our followers too occupied to hear God. That way their hearts will not have compassion for the lost souls. Then we can teach them that service to God is adhereance to religion. Would that make our belief right and exonerate us from God's commision?

When all is said and done, the truth stands.

TRUST GOD’S AUTHJORITY – NOT MAN’S MAJORITY.

"The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." — Matthew 9:37-38

or do we live by God’s standards?

It’s a question that answers itself if we love him.
